Estate Sale Update

16 May

002 Well, today I had unexpectedly good luck at a sale in a tiny house in East Nashville. See my highly paid assistant eating a peanut butter sandwich in the corner of this picture? We like to keep it real at Apron Strings Vintage HQ.

This sale just goes to prove that the estate sale pictures might be telling the whole story but sometimes not. The box contains a 2-foot aluminum tabletop Christmas tree, which I did not remove from its box because those things take FOREVER to unpack and put together. There’s a reason they went out of style and it’s called they are a total pain in the rear. Also, a gorgeous Napco lady head vase, neither of which were in the on-line pictures for the sale. Happy surprises! The little elf was tucked in a back bedroom. The Pyrex dish is a score by the Mister, who went to another sale. I like the framed picture, too…so 1950’s!
Let’s check out that lady head vase up close. This is my second lady head vase. I hope I’m on a roll with these things!
005 She’s in very nice shape and has her original veil and fake flowers.

So sweet!

So sweet!

I also found this adorable cake topper. Wouldn’t this be so sweet on a buffet table on a vintage-themed wedding?

So, not bad for a Thursday! It’s definitely much nicer to wait in the estate sale line when it is warm and sunny. The Mister and I will likely be out and about at the sales tomorrow and Saturday; say hello if you see us! xoxo, LaurenT

I almost got that Styrofoam/reindeer thingie, but I wasn’t sure it would sell. I’m glad it got a good home in your Christmas collection!

I went to that sale (what a strange, time capsule-y little house!) and narrowly avoided buying a hat or two– they were 40% off by the time I went, but I’m trying to be good! I really like that 2 ft tabletop tree though, and that cake topper is SWEET!

Looking for mexicana or other vintage dishes with similar patterns from HLC. Thanks Tom

Well…me, too! My HLC Mexicana dishes are a personal collection; not something I resell. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
