What’s new…

17 Apr

There is really nothing I like better than a clock, unless it’s a clock that is vintage and weird or tacky in some way.007 This fabulous 1950’s clock has a red light behind the fireplace that glows. Why a fireplace clock? WHY NOT, I say! I’ve periodically run across similar clocks in antique malls since I was a teenager and I’ve always found them to be super-charming so I was thrilled to find one to put in the booth. Weird clocks–I can’t resist.

Ooh! I have another fun fact for you about my 1930’s house. We have a stone pillar in our front yard, and we have not been able to figure out what it is from. Well, our neighbor told us that is was part of the original toll booth on Granny White pike when it was a toll road. I KNOW, RIGHT?? The road was completed in 1855, from what I can find out.

How cool is that??

How cool is that??

Anyway, I am off to my son’s school concert tonight…good luck at the sales tomorrow if you are going, and say hi if you see me! xoxo, LaurenT

I’m a huge fan of old clocks too. I have a problem though remembering to change all of the batteries. There are 4 clocks in my house right now that are only right twice a day.

I’ll have to send you a picture of my “Disco Jesus” clock once it’s shipped to me. It’s from the ’70s and is backed with one of those 3D-like motion pictures and when you move your head it looks like Jesus is disco dancing. It’s one of the most fantastically tacky things I’ve ever bought and I can’t wait to get it!
