Estate Sale Update

5 Apr

001 Basket issues update time: I took this very fancy clear plastic tub to shop a Michael Taylor estate sale on Thursday, and it was a tremendous success. Also, look at that chenille bedspread, though. Ain’t she a killer?
003 The good thing about this tub, although it is annoying and unwieldy and I almost knocked over at least three little old ladies and one old man (who gave me the stink eye) with it, is that it holds a TON of stuff. Like this fancy, fancy flamingo pink Pyrex refrigerator dish set, which is in excellent condition and is heading to my booth very soon. I never find pink fridge dishes at sales–after all the ones I’ve gone to, these are my first. Likewise the turquoise Pyrex nesting bowl set. These colors are super-popular and these sets are NOT easy to come across. They were not a bargain, and my selling price will have to reflect that, unfortunately for people who love deals on Pyrex as much as me. But cute colors like this are just harder to find! The Early American dish WAS a deal, however, and it was scored by the Mister. I told y’all he was doing better. He really is. He bought himself an $8 leaf blower today and brought it home and explained to me that it was so light that even I could use it. First off, perhaps he did not realize that I can haul around a plastic tub with 40 lbs worth of glassware with one arm at an estate sale for roughly 37 minutes so OF COURSE, I can carry a leaf blower. (Astonishing feats of upper body strength courtesy of 142 Pure Barre classes and counting.) And second, hahahaha, I’m not blowing leaves, do I look like a sucker?
004 The glasses caddy was also a score by the Mister, and the glasses were picked up at the same Michael Taylor sale. They would be perfect for a Mad Men viewing party, wouldn’t they? Mad Men is starting on Sunday! Run, don’t walk! I also have a caddy with duck-themed glasses in the booth for the person on your gift-giving list who loves Duck Dynasty. (I love Duck Dynasty.)

Alright, friends…I’ve got a tennis match starring my son to hit this sunny afternoon, so happy hunting if you are hitting the estate sales this weekend! Say hey if you see me! xoxo, LaurenT

My Pyrex luck is rarely this good…I wish I’d gotten better deals but I routinely overpay for Pyrex…can’t resist!

Send a girl out with her magic tub and she comes home with $160 worth of Pyrex. Great finds!!

You have good taste. Couldn’t help but notice the dinette set and the yellow stool.
