Booth and Bloglovin’ Update

21 Mar

All the cool kids seem to be bemoaning the imminent loss of Google Reader and talking about Bloglovin’ as a substitute. Having never used (or even been really very aware) of either, I had to Google around to find out what everyone was talking about in the first place. People, I’m almost 40. I don’t know what dubstep is, either.

Anyhow, I signed up for the Bloglovin’ and if you want to follow my blog or you are also old and clueless about Bloglovin’, there is an icon you can click on at the bottom of this blog. Keep scrolling. It’s there.

Yesterday I sold a blond wood coffee table and end table set that had been in my booth since I opened back in August. My booth is so small that every time I sell a piece of furniture, it involves a lot of re-organizing. So, today I cleaned up some fun patio décor pieces I’d been saving for spring and set up a new display.

The wagon is really weathered and would be a fabulous prop for a photographer who takes pics of kids, or full of mums and pumpkins on a front porch in the fall. Clearly, I’m trying to move along some of my planter collection. Somebody needs to fill all these up with succulents; wouldn’t they look great? I thought of selling them with the succulents planted in them but I am a terrible gardener and I can pretty much guarantee that they would die. That lawn chair has three colors of peeling paint and has a great patina. Or you could paint it if you don’t like the weathered look. So, some new stuff for spring is in the booth, even though the temperature sure still feels like winter today. Anybody hitting the sales tomorrow? I have one on my list, and I will likely be at the flea market on Saturday with my reluctant, complaining children in tow. They are the WORST flea market assistants ever, unfortunately. They love to touch breakables and they complain about walking and they are constantly hungry. So, I have that to look forward to. Say hi if you see us! xoxo, LaurenT

I see that your little gnome made it into the booth! I love that thermos and those planters! Since we have so little sun, sometimes I’ve put potted plants in a wheelbarrow to live and then I can wheel them around and follow the sun as needed. That wagon would be great for that too.

Your kids sound like my husband. He says “this slow shuffle walk wears me out!!”

I read “full of mums” as “full of mimes” and it made the paragraph go in a completely different direction!

So cute! I love the “spring is here!” display, and congrats on selling those prime-booth-real-estate-spotlight-hoggers, the aforementioned coffee and end table set, I bet they found awesome new homes. The flea market was WAY MORE FILLED OUT for a Friday this morning, all the way to the swine barn for once! I hope you and your reluctant helpers score big, big, big! 🙂
