Chinese New Year Giveaway

11 Feb

A few months back, I found a really awesome cocktail shaker and set of little glasses with super-cute mid-century graphics depicting Chinese people.
Here is a close-up.
They are an odd height–about 3 inches. Too small for a juice glass and too big for a shot glass. They came with the shaker, so I imagine that they were intended to hold some kind of cocktail. A Singapore Sling, maybe? I’ve never had one so I don’t know the proper glassware for them.

The cocktail shaker that matched them sold at the booth on Saturday. Someone from the mall called and asked if I would break up the set; I said that the (very reasonable) price stood, but the glasses could be left behind if the person did not want them. So, they were orphaned! I imagine that they were originally a set of 8, but all I found at the estate sale were 7.

I don’t really know how to price them because 7 glasses aren’t really a set, and they are an odd size, so I’m giving them away, in celebration of the Chinese New Year. If any of you out there are collectors of vintage barware or oriental-themed mid-century kitsch….you can have these little glasses for free–just leave a note in the comments. If more than one person wants them, I will have one of my highly-paid assistants (read: children) draw names from a hat.

As aways, thanks for reading…xoxo, LaurenT

Lauren I think they are a type of rock glass. They are nice, if you don’t find anyone who wants them I have a friend that would love them. I would pay for shipping and what ever price you feel is reasonable.

These are cute! I wonder why whoever bought the shaker didn’t want the little glasses, too! Wish I wasn’t on a strict smalls embargo at my house now– I hope they enjoy their new home with an Apron Strings reader! 🙂
