Estate Sale Update

20 Jan

In between house-hunting, I managed to hit a sale on Friday a.m. This sale was advertised on Craiglist rather than on and the pictures looked good so I went for it even though I knew I would be driving for at least 45 minutes to get there. I don’t know why I still do this kind of thing, because inevitably a sale that’s not run by one of the reputable Nashville estate sale companies is going to be overpriced, poorly run and just a huge hassle in general. I have a huge rant on this subject, but I will spare you.
I did get a few things. I finally found one of those cute music boxes that looks like a little Swiss chalet–totally adorable and I want to keep it but I’m being good.  I got two embroidered dishtowels, one with a kitty eating cereal. Whenever I find these I sell them almost immediately.  The three Pyrex nesters will go with the big yellow bowl I got from a sale a few months back to make a complete set. I’m probably keeping the tablecloth because I can’t seem to sell a tablecloth to save my life. And the drinking glass is imprinted with cocktail recipes–very cute. It was actually from a different sale, one in West Meade. Also, the crewel work picture is a good color for the booth and will look great.

I am glad that the flea market is next weekend and that the sales in the coming weeks are picking back up. It has been so slow! xoxo, LaurenT

Can’t WAIT for the flea market… things have been so dead! I can’t get over the kitty having its breakfast. And good score on those nesting bowls, I love the primary color ones!!
