Estate sale update

30 Nov

First off…yesterday the Mister attempted to redeem himself for his last solo attempt at an estate sale. Remember when he bought those trays? And the “jadeite” juicer? And the broken ice cube tray?

Not too bad, honey!

Well, he did better this time. The book is from 1969 and has some good vintage crafts inside. The Pyrex was a nice find in the pink color, but can anyone tell me what you put in a divided casserole dish? Are there some great recipes for divided casserole dishes that I should know? Because most of what I make, casserole-wise, is too big for a divided dish. I’m a little confused by them. Are you?

I got lots of other stuff, too. Aren’t those Dolly Duzit and Danny Duzit scrubbies too cute? I’m a sucker for whimsical packaging. The corn set is in fabulous condition. The box is like-new, and comes with the corn-shaped salt shakers inside.  I probably paid too much for the chalkware rooster, but he’s perfectly aged with the paint coming off. And the cup and saucer were from Rad’s Steak House in Williams, Arizona…I love restaurant ware and Arizona. I have been to Williams and I don’t remember Rad’s…I bet it was cool, though. And the potted plant measuring spoon set is cute. I just found one of these at the flea market that was missing the spoons, so it’s nice to find one with all of them. I’m tempted to keep it, but into the booth it goes.  The big teapot just had such great graphics and is a nice, big size. I hope some teapot collector snaps it up.

So, that is my haul so far this week…we are heading to an auction on Saturday that is full of Pyrex, so you can count on me paying too much for that. Also, have I sold the Pyrex I bought at the last auction? No. No, I have not. Never mind, you may be assured that I will come home with more. I am also on the hunt for something unique and interesting for the Mister’s dirty Santa exchange at work.  Unfortunately, taxidermied squirrels are a lot harder to find than you might think. xoxo, LaurenT

    Broccoli and squash or string beans and corn or beets and string beans;
    it’s just about keeping them separate in one dish…Is it going to find a home in your
    cupboard or the Apron Strings???????

      It’s in the booth…I would love to keep everything I find but that would be bad for business! hahaha

    I use them when we make tacos. I use two different divided dishes. I put the meat, lettuce, tomatos, and cheese in each section.
