X-mas Update

17 Nov

Hey y’all from the Gas Lamp Too holiday open house! If you are looking for that perfect Christmas gift for that special someone, may I recommend a taxidermied bass? Or a lamp in the shape of a chuck wagon? Seriously, why NOT give off-the-wall gifts this year? Your spouse totally has all the sweaters he/she could ever want. Plus, buying vintage things is a form of recycling and also supporting local business and it has mega hipster street cred. It’s almost as cool as growing a mustache or getting a tattoo. Neither of which I have done, but I’m way too old and nerdy to be a hipster. For example, I will share with you that I am seriously sad that Christmas sweaters have fallen so far out of favor that there are actual ugly Christmas sweater parties devoted to them. My holiday cardigan collection was EPIC back in the 1990’s. Most of them were from Talbots. I wore a lot of Talbots in my twenties. On purpose. The whole Caro-Nan basket handbag obsession probably makes more sense now, right? I get compliments on these bags all the time but I secretly think people are just making fun of the crazy lady.

I wish I were wearing a holiday cardigan RIGHT NOW.

By the way, look what I sold today:

I know. I am sad. I priced it high because I secretly wanted to keep it, but not high enough! Sometimes it is super-hard to be a dealer and not a gigantic hoarder.

Speaking of stuff I already sold…I think there is one putz house left. I got these out of an estate sale in Atlanta this past summer.

Here’s some more Christmas stuff in the booth. The taxidermied squirrel already found a home for the holidays (sorry, Ernesto fans, but he has the BEST home ever) but you can still pick up a few awesome blow-mold Santas.  Hope you are having a great weekend! The Mister is off work for a few days, so we are doing super-exciting things like playing golf and going to a new-to-us sushi restaurant. xoxo, LaurenT

What a cute cute booth, I’d be there in a heartbeat if I didn’t live a million miles away (ok, that’s an exaggeration). Loved the banner too.

My hubby indulges me, but I think not that much, LOL. Good Luck with your booth over the holidays. People would have to be mad not to snap up everything. I would buy ALL the Cherry Blossom Mccoy 🙂
